Who we are

Wellington Rentals hires plant and equipment to contractors across Gippsland from our yard at 141 Patten St, Sale VIC 3850. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Wellington Rentals, and "you" means anyone who contacts us or uses this website.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your company if you give one, your phone number, the job location, the dates you need the gear, whether you want wet or dry hire, which machine you are after, and any notes you add.

The form does not ask for an email address, a payment method, or any identity document. We never ask for those through this website. If you send us any of it anyway, in the notes field for example, we treat it the same way as the rest of your enquiry.

What we do with it

We use it to answer your enquiry, quote the hire, and arrange delivery or pick-up. That is the whole purpose.

Your enquiry is emailed to the yard through Resend, our email delivery provider, and recorded in the customer system our marketing agency runs on our behalf so that nothing gets missed. Both act on our instructions and do not use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.

Tracking and cookies

This website runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts. It sets no cookies on your visit, so there is no consent banner to click through. The only cookies this site can set are the sign-in cookies for our own staff content editor, which a visitor never reaches.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we have a working relationship with you, and for seven years after the last hire so our records match our tax and insurance obligations. After that we delete them. An enquiry that never turns into a hire is deleted within two years.

Getting a copy, or having it removed

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the yard on 0477 021 814 or email wellingtonrents@gmail.com and we will sort it out. We will ask a couple of questions to confirm it is you, then respond within 30 days. There is no charge.

If something goes wrong

If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first on 0477 021 814 or wellingtonrents@gmail.com and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Anything significant, we will say so on the page rather than quietly amend it.
